Quality Ink.

The colours obtained from this cartridge are superior to any recycled ink's I have ever used. The purchase price may well be higher but after using clones in the past and suffering from the results I would rather pay the extra! I tend to print photo's so the finished result is important, I must say I have been very pleased so far.

Ink Shortage

I can only compare this cartridge with the ones (black and colour) which came with the printer at time of purchase, having kept the empty boxes so that I would know what to re-order. The original cartridges lasted a long time under normal domestic usage - the new one has lasted less than three weeks. The new colour cartridge purchased on the same date as the new black ink one is still producing even although I am now having to print everything in colour. Don't know what's going on here but can only assume there was little ink in the black ink cartridge at the time of purchase.

HP 363 cartridge pack

A useful pack which contains the 3 inks which get used the most. Difficult to say whether they represent good value for money until they run out. So far they are doing as well print-wise as you would expect from original HP cartridges.

A Good All-Rounder With Just A Few Minor Niggles

This printer is a solid all-rounder that does it all. It includes features such as automatic duplex (printing on both sides of a page), that you might associate with more expensive machines. The quality of text print is not at all bad, and is, I would imagine, entirely acceptable for just about anyone. The colour output is reasonable, but just a little washed out perhaps. Certainly for my needs it's fine though, and most users are unlikely to take issue with it for casual or normal run of the mill colour and even light photo output.

The wireless features and the fax all work, though as with much of this technology, it can be more of a hassle than it should be setting up. That though, is a general complaint, and not something that's fair to lay at HP's door. The bottom line so to speak, is that it does all work. The instructions that come with it are in my opinion better than most. Likewise the scanner and copying function won't let you down, though it would have been nice if HP had bundled a little more in the way of software for the scanner. Still, it does work well, and what is included will get you started.

This model has attracted some comment because of its noise levels. Whilst this is fair in that it does make a bit of a racket starting up, and then occasional other noises thereafter, this has I feel been slightly exaggerated. I'd agree that if you really need a whisper quiet machine, the 6500 probably isn't for you. Otherwise though, I wouldn't let these reports put you off.

If you buy the maximum capacity ink cartidge in black, then the 6500 has reasonable printing costs, relatively speaking. (Don't get me started on ink prices!)

It's not an out and out speed machine, though it is fast in economy mode, again though, I found it to be easily fast enough right across the board.

I now turn to the software. HP's software has taken a few knocks recently. The core software that comes with the HP 6500 is okay. It's nothing fancy, in fact it's pretty basic. That's not a problem though since it does what it is supposed to. However, HP have in their wisdom included in their software CD, an automatic link to their online shop. My advice is at the installation stage, to exclude this so that it isn't loaded. My pc was crashing and slowing down after installation, and I eventually traced it to this. I can't understand why HP after taking knocks for the quality of their software, would want to do this. It's a pity because it has people feeling bad about a product that is actually good.

The 6500 wireless isn't subtle being quite a big beast. But nor is it ugly, and I could see it slot into most small offices or home studies quite nicely. It offers good value for money, and is a well balanced machine doing it all, and for reasonable running costs, relatively speaking.

HP 338 ink cartridges

I've never had a problem with HP products, including ink cartridges (unlike 'cheaper' products and refills thst really work out dearer). With the HP inks my printer produces flawless results consistently and goes on way after the printer tells me that the cartridge is empty.

I'm Happy With It

Not a lot to say really. I saved money and had prompt delivery of the purchased item, all you can ask for.

Similar to the colour cartridges, these are also very competive in price. I can say I am pleased.

Good pricing on original HP Ink

When the price offered is compared with the High Street or Supermarket chain price this appeared to be excellent value for money, and so it proved to be. Well worth the short wait (it was quickly delivered) and even better if you do plan ahead.

HP Originl Ink Cartridge

After a couple of bad experiences using third part remanufactured cartridges I have reverted to using HP originals, where available always using the XL (High capacity) version. They do work extremely well and the life from the XL cartridges is very good. The print quality and 'blackness' is excellent even in draft mode (I've got a Photosmart D7360) and in photoprint mode I get a good range of contrast without resorting to a special photo-black cartridge as some manufacturers seem to use.

The reason for withholding a star is not so much to do with this particular item but a comment on the pricing of all original manufacturer's ink cartridges. I do a fairly sustantial amount of printing so mainly buy from Amazon to get the best price - buy direct from HP or from a high street retailer and your eyes will water!!

HP 338 and 343 cartridges delivered promptly and just as importantly they were a good price. Bit bothered that my HP C3180 is squeaking and might give out before I get the chance to use them though!

HP ink cartridge

Cartridge arrived prompty. It appears to be a genuine HP cartridge & is recognised as such by the printer. It was sealed in the original plastic wrapper but without the box. I shall be perfectly happy to by further supplies from the same source.
